Ortho Clinical Diagnostics Raritan, NJ
A Cogeneration project using a single, outdoor installed, combustion turbine generator, operating solely on pipeline gas fuel, and a single heat recovery steam generator located within a new building enclosure. The facility operates base loaded at full capacity in parallel with the utility grid. The combined unit produces approximately 1.5 MW, or
roughly one-half of the facility’s requirements, of electricity and approximately 11,000 pounds per hour of steam at 125 psig. The new facility is an extension to Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics’ (OCD) headquarters in Raritan, NJ. OCD, a Johnson & Johnson Company provides blood testing and blood typing products.
EMCOR provided the Engineering, Design and Construction for this 1.5 MW, 11,000 pound per hour steam, combined heat and power plant. Scope included advising and assisting client in equipment selection and securing long-term service agreements.
