As the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, Socrates is responsible for overseeing all company finance and accounting matters, risk management, and information technology initiatives. He develops processes to streamline accounting functions, focusing on the use of technology, and provides regular reports to management to assist them in making optimal business decisions.

Expertise

Socrates began his career at Ernst and Young, in the assurance practice, where he worked with a variety of public and private equity companies and real estate businesses. He then moved to corporate accounting, working at RailWorks Corporation, a privately held specialty contractor. There he served as regional controller and director of finance and operations. His focus was on construction accounting, acquisition and integration projects, and IT initiatives.

He graduated from New York University’s Stern School of Business with a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting and a master’s in accounting. He is a certified public accountant (CPA) in New York and an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Construction Financial Management Association.

The Personal Side

Socrates enjoys traveling, an active lifestyle of running and swimming, listening to classic rock, watching football and baseball, and spending time with his wife and son.
