Value Delivered
Forest Electric New Jersey (Forest NJ) installed roof-mounted photovoltaic arrays for Capital Lighting’s East Hanover, Eatontown, and Paramus retail locations. At each location, Forest NJ repurposed largely unused rooftop space into a source of future revenue and energy for Capital Lighting.
These photovoltaic arrays are helping Capital Lighting become more environmentally sustainable and fiscally responsible by reducing on-grid energy usage and lowering Capital Lighting’s energy costs. At their East Hanover location alone, Capital expects to slash its annual $56,000 power bill by 25 percent.
Our team helped generate further tax savings for Capital Lighting by complying with the necessary requirements and strict timelines of the New Jersey Clean Energy Program, various federal tax credits, and accelerated depreciation of hardware.
Client Objectives
The client sought to dramatically cut power consumption at three of their New Jersey retail lighting showrooms. By doing so, they hoped to regain a measure of control over their energy expenditures and stabilize electric costs for years to come.
Solutions
Forest NJ successfully installed multiple roof-mounted solar array systems, working as the general contractor and providing key planning and strategic job coordination.
Each location required customized solutions to fit their unique energy needs. Equipment for each site included:
East Hanover
- 116-kilowatt photovoltaic system
- 708 165-watt panels
- One 100-kilowatt, 480-volt inverter
Eatontown
- 240-kilowatt photovoltaic system
- 788 300-watt panels
- Two inverters
Paramus
- 140-kilowatt photovoltaic system
