Value Delivered

Forest Electric New Jersey (Forest NJ) served as both the general and electrical contractor for a 700kW photovoltaic (PV) system installation at East Coast Warehouse & Distribution’s 350,000-square-foot facility. This PV system was among the largest standing seam metal roof installation of solar panels of its kind in the world and far outperformed original projected energy targets, currently generating approximately 40-percent of the facility’s electricity.

Client Objectives

The client wanted a solar panel array installation that would reduce operating costs and provide an efficient and safe source of renewable energy. It was imperative that as much of the facility’s energy consumption as possible was converted to the new solar panel system, and that it met stringent Port Authority requirements.

Solutions

During the project, Forest NJ provided a full suite of electrical installation and general contracting services, including:

  • Acquisition of a wide array of PV panels and related materials
  • Relocating three 225KW inverters indoors
  • Installation of over 5,000 solar laminated PVL panels
