Forest Electric New Jersey (Forest NJ) built out a new 15,000-square-foot data center at Teleglobe’s Newark offices, leveraging our extensive data center engineering and build-out expertise to deliver the project on time and on budget—which allowed the client to meet stringent progress requirements on a major corporate initiative. 

Client Objectives

Teleglobe, at the time of the project’s initiation, was aiming to meet a five-year data structure initiative that involved building out a new data center in their existing Newark office building.

Solutions

This data center build-out involved a variety of electrical services performed by Forest NJ, including:

  • Bringing 3,000 amps of electrical service to the 11th floor of the Teleglobe space
  • Running five risers from the basement, through the 9th floor, and up to the 11th floor
  • Installation of a new 2MW generator and new chillers on the rooftop
  • Installation of 25 conduits that ran from the 11th floor to the rooftop

Teleglobe was a leading provider of global communications and e-business services. The company now operates under the name VSNL International Canada as a subsidiary of Tata Communications.
