Forest Electric New Jersey provided the installation of the electrical distribution and power services during the construction of a site-wide emergency generator system for a leading pharmaceutical company in Rahway, NJ. As a member of the integrated project delivery team, we were highly involved in the project from its onset, working closely with the general contract, architect, and client.
The existing infrastructure of the facility was very dense and uniquely laid out to accommodate complex pharmaceutical processes, which made the installation of duct banks challenging. Thanks to our involvement in the project’s initial design phase, we were able to find practical solutions to these issues, helping keep work moving efficiently and eliminating any exposed conduits.
Client Objectives
The client needed to have a robust backup power system to ensure that critical operations at four of their facilities were maintained, even in the event of an unexpected outage. This required the construction of a new, campus-wide emergency distribution system, including all manholes and handholes, as well as an accompanying full control system linking automatic transfer switches to the generator controls.
