Forest Electric New Jersey (Forest NJ) performed electrical renovations for four floors and the penthouse of this pharmaceutical company’s New Brunswick facility. Forest NJ provided and installed general power infrastructure, backup power equipment, lighting, fire alarms, and sound masking systems across approximately 128,000 square feet of lab space.
Forest NJ manufactured a large portion of the work via their BIM-integrated prefabrication shop to meet an aggressive schedule.
Client Objectives
The client undertook extensive renovations to meet new laboratory requirements.
Solutions
Forest NJ installed 200 42-circuit electrical panels to provide power for multiple overhead lab service panels. Each 20-by-15-foot lab room housed four-to-eight overhead service panels, each containing between 10 and twenty receptacles. In total, our team installed 230 overhead service panels.
Additionally, we replaced two existing 4,000-amp, 480-volt switchboards with two new 4000-amp, 5KV/480V switchboards.
